Full Site Closure Aug 17-19

The whole Britannia site will be closed from Monday, August 17 through Wednesday, August 19, 2026, due to a planned BC Hydro power outage required for electrical infrastructure maintenance.

During this period, the entire Britannia site will be without power. As a result, all programs, services, rentals, and facilities will be closed, including:

• Britannia Child Care programs – Britannia OSC programs
• Britannia Community Centre
• The Canucks Family Education Centre
• Eastside Family Place
• Fitness Centre
• Ice Rink
• Library
• Pool
• Youth and Seniors programs
• All registered and drop-in recreation programs

*Please note: Funseekers Summer Camps and Offsite camps will continue to operate off site.

This will impact our fall registration as follows:

• Online registration will begin on Tue Aug 18 at 7:00pm.
• In person registration will take place on Tue Aug 18 at 7pm at Trout Lake. There will be Britannia clerical staff on site at Trout Lake to support registration and answer questions about programming.
• Phone In registration will take place on Thu Aug 20 at 9:00am at Britannia. Please call 604.718.5800.

We plan to reopen on Thursday, August 20, 2026 with regular programming, subject to BC Hydro completing the scheduled work as planned. The pool and rink will be closed on Thu Aug 20 to bring the facilities back to temperature.
