Urban Fish Smoking Camp: Smoking & Canning Salmon

Join knowledge keeper Kym Stogan on October 30th or November 20th and learn how to smoke and can salmon!

Britannia Community Elementary School will be smoking and canning for the last two weeks of October, and they have invited us to join them after school on both dates from 4:00-6:00pm.

We will gather in the Plaza, outside of the Family Activity Room, and seek shelter in the 55+ Centre in case of rain. Kym will demonstrated the processing of the salmon, and share the importance of fish to the Musqueam people and the west coast people.

Kym Stogan is the great niece of Hereditary Chief Walker Stogan, granddaughter  of Vincent Stogan, and is of Musqueam and Mohawk ancestry.
