What special events would you like us to host or sponsor?

Over the past few months we've held discussions in committees and with staff to understand how we should be directing resources for events. As these are events are for the community, now we would like to hear from you!

Special events are a way for community members to come together. In a year, Britannia hosts and supports up to 50 events, big and small. As we return to more "normal" operations, we'd like to take the opportunity to review and assess which events to keep and what new events community members would like to see. All of our future events will also reflect our programming principles, 2022 priorities and 2021-2025 Strategic Plan.

Survey results will be available in July when we come together for a DIY picnic in the park. By September, we should have some recommendations to the Board that we've created together.

In the meantime, we are still going ahead with supporting a National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration with Nations Skate Youth Society in the Courts Skatepark, as well as organizing a small Canada Day event in Grandview Park, the Britannia Plaza Market, Orange Shirt Day, and other events.
