Welcome to Grandview Terrace Childcare, a welcoming space where everyone is valued, respected, and included. We prioritize respect, kindness, and safety in our relationships with one another, the environment, and the shared spaces and belongings within our community.

Serving the Grandview-Woodland community since 1973, our program is located on school grounds overlooking a peaceful woodland filled with tall trees, birdsong, and a thriving community garden. These everyday moments invite children to slow down, observe, reflect, and develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world around them.

As one child beautifully shared, “Nature is beautiful, and it’s everywhere around—a nice view and near a tree.” At Grandview Terrace Childcare, we nurture not only learning and curiosity, but also a strong sense of community, connection, and belonging with the land and environment that surrounds us.

Grandview Terrace Daycare is a participating site in the Early Childhood Pedagogy Network and is supported by a pedagogist who strengthens collaborative and reflective practice while enriching the program through artistic and relational learning.

Facilities: Indoor-outdoor spaces, including a community garden, a make-believe playroom, a studio, enclosed playground, nap room, kitchen, and more.

We are a $10/day program
Fee: $200.00/month

We provide a nutritious catered lunch program cook on site and two snacks per day (AM & PM). We are closed on statutory holidays and have two professional development day per a year.

REGISTRATION

Children can start in the year they turn 3 years old and have reached 30 months. (30 months old on entrance to the program, and 36 months old by December 31 of the year of entrance).

WITHDRAWING

One month’s written notice, by the last day of the previous calendar month, is required when withdrawing your child from the program or one month’s fee payment in lieu of one month’s notice.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:45pm

GRADUAL ENTRY SCHEDULE

We follow a five day gradual entry approach. The schedule is as follows:

Monday: 8:30-10:30am – 2 hrs with parents

Tuesday: 8:30-10:30am – 2 hrs without parents

Wednesday: 8:30-12:00nn – Join with lunch

Thursday: 8:30-2:30pm – Stay till nap time

Friday: 8:30 – 4:30pm – Stay till afternoon snack/ whole day

Gradual entry schedule is flexible and is aimed toward supporting the needs of each child.

Grandview Terrace Out of School Care II & III

5-12 yrs | 2075 Woodland Drive, Vancouver

At Grandview Terrace Out-Of-School Care, we offer a welcoming program for up to 74 children attending nearby elementary schools, including Grandview, Queen Victoria, and Queen Alexandra. Afternoon care for children attending Anne Hébert Elementary is also available through parent-arranged drop-off. In addition to before and after school care, we provide full-time programming during spring break, winter holidays, and throughout the summer months.

Our program is grounded in the values and principles of the BC Early Learning Framework, recognizing children as capable, curious, and full of potential. We create responsive learning environments that nurture children’s sense of belonging, well-being, and identity through meaningful relationships, collaborative inquiry, and opportunities for play and exploration.

Children actively contribute to our classroom community through the co-creation of social agreements that reflect shared understandings of respect, care, friendship, and responsibility. Educators engage in reflective practice by observing, listening to, and documenting children’s ideas and experiences to thoughtfully extend learning in ways that are meaningful and engaging. Our curriculum evolves from children’s interests, questions, and lived experiences, supporting the co-construction of knowledge and encouraging children to make connections with the world around them.

We value strong partnerships with families, schools, and the broader community, recognizing that these relationships create continuity and support for children’s learning and growth. Through inclusive and culturally responsive practices, we strive to create a caring environment where every child and family feels seen, heard, and valued.
