Curriculum & Philosophy

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our team works collaboratively with a shared mission to foster belonging, kindness, and mutual respect. We act with integrity, model compassion, and promote inclusive interactions in all we do. We are guided by current research and best practices in early childhood education, continuously evolving to support lifelong learning and development.

We are also committed to being environmentally conscious, encouraging children to care for and connect with the natural world through sustainable practices and daily outdoor exploration.

At the heart of our childcare programs is a commitment to providing safe, nurturing, and enriching environments where every child and family feels respected, valued, and included.

We believe that children learn best through play-based, child-centered experiences that support the development of the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. As an active part of our local community, we build strong, responsive relationships with families and adapt our practices to reflect their diverse needs and strengths.

CURRICULUM

Our 25-space daycare centre provides high-quality early childhood education rooted in connection, creativity, and community. Children explore their neighbourhood through regular nature walks, fostering a deep appreciation for the environment. Monthly visits from Arts Umbrella enrich our program with art-based experiences that support creativity, storytelling, and self-expression. A community pedagogist joins us weekly to collaborate with educators, children, and families in co-constructing knowledge through dialogue and shared experiences. Central to this approach is pedagogical documentation, which involves observing and reflecting on children’s experiences and using these insights to guide future learning in alignment with the BC Early Learning Framework.

Curriculum & Philosophy

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We offer a school age programs for up to 74 children, welcoming students from nearby elementary schools. Our program designed to support the emotional, social, and cognitive development of children through play-based inquiry driven approach, emphasizes listening to children’s ideas, documenting their learning and creating environments that invite exploration and co-construction of knowledge. We strive to build continuity between home, school, and our program, supporting each child’s sense of belonging, well being and identity.

CURRICULUM

Our out-of-school program is grounded in the values of respect, relationships, and responsiveness, recognizing children as strong, capable individuals full of potential. We foster collaborative partnerships with families and the broader community, creating a supportive environment where every voice is valued. Our curriculum is ever-evolving—shaped by reflective practice and cultural relevance—to remain meaningful and inclusive. Through a responsive approach, educators closely observe and listen to children, thoughtfully designing learning experiences that emerge from their interests, ideas, and curiosities. This ensures each child’s growth is supported in ways that are engaging, empowering, and connected to the world around them.
