Curriculum & Philosophy

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of Eagles in the Sky Association is rooted in nurturing each child as a unique and capable individual, while fostering a strong sense of belonging within a diverse and inclusive community. Guided by child-centered values, they honour every child’s background, personality, and developmental journey. Their programs are thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, responsive, and stimulating environment that sparks curiosity, creativity, and meaningful exploration. With a deep commitment to inclusivity, they welcome and celebrate the richness of all families—creating a caring space where every child feels seen, valued, and supported.

CURRICULUM

The Eagles in the Sky Association embraces a pedagogical approach grounded in respect, inclusivity, and holistic child development. While a formal pedagogy document is not published, their daily practices, program design, and staffing choices reflect a strong and intentional educational philosophy. At the heart of their curriculum is the belief that children are capable, curious, and active participants in their own learning. Learning is seen as a co-constructed process, where educators, children, and families engage in meaningful dialogue, inquiry, and reflection together.

The curriculum is emergent and responsive, shaped by children’s interests, cultural identities, and lived experiences. Educators observe and listen closely to children’s play and questions, using these moments to guide learning opportunities that support critical thinking, creativity, emotional expression, and social connection. Through rich, play-based experiences and a focus on nurturing strong relationships, the Eagles in the Sky Association creates an environment where each child feels valued, supported, and empowered to explore their world. Their curriculum is not only about acquiring knowledge, but about fostering empathy, community, and a lifelong love of learning.

Curriculum & Philosophy

Our Philosophy

At Eagles in the Sky Association, our out of school program is guided by the belief that each child is a capable, unique individual with their own strengths, ideas, and voice. We strive to create a welcoming environment where children feel a strong sense of belonging and are supported in expressing themselves freely and confidently. Rooted in respect, inclusivity, and relationship-building, our program honours the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the children and families we serve. We aim to provide a safe, engaging, and responsive space where children can relax, connect, and thrive beyond the school day.

Curriculum

Our Out-of-School curriculum is shaped by a responsive and relational approach that places children at the center of their learning. We recognize that learning doesn’t stop when the school bell rings—children continue to grow through play, exploration, and meaningful social interactions. Educators listen closely to children’s interests and ideas, using these insights to co-create experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and encourage collaboration. Our curriculum is flexible and emergent, reflecting the cultural identities, lived experiences, and evolving needs of the children in our care. By fostering strong relationships, encouraging creativity, and promoting a sense of community, we create an environment where children feel empowered to explore who they are and how they connect with the world around them.
