OUR PHILOSOPHY

Preschool is a place where children are recognized as capable and curious learners who grow holistically—intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically, and creatively—through rich, play-based experiences. Grounded in the BC Early Learning Framework, our approach values children’s voices, cultural identities, and connections to land, community, and each other. Through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships, children develop language, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deepening awareness of themselves and the world around them.

CURRICULUM

Children make sense of their world through play, which is recognized as a vital space for exploration, expression, and learning. Our preschool curriculum is thoughtfully designed to respond to each child’s unique curiosities, developmental needs, and cultural contexts. Learning emerges through meaningful relationships, co-inquiry, and collaboration between children and educators. Guided by a pedagogist, educators reflect deeply on children’s play and dialogue, shaping a curriculum that is caring, inclusive, and rooted in the children’s experiences—inviting them to explore their identities, engage with others, and participate meaningfully in the world around them.

We believe that learning continues beyond the classroom through meaningful play, exploration, and relationships.

Educators listen, observe, and reflect alongside the children to co-create engaging activities that promote creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. 3:00 – 3:30 PM: Active play at Grandview Park or in GYM D if raining

3:30 – 4:00 PM: Sign up for activities/ SNACK served

4:00 – 5:00 PM: Activities

4:50 PM: Room clean-up

5:00 PM: Activity, then reading

5:55 – 6:00 PM: Pick-up
